Rule: Students With Exit Dates Before Their Start Dates

Summary

This validation identifies students whose enrollment End Date is before the Start Date for an enrollment in the current school year.

Review the enrollment dates to confirm that they accurately reflect the student's enrollment history.

What to Review

For each student reported in the validation, review the applicable enrollment record.

  • Search for the student.
  • Open Student Information > General > Enrollments.
  • Select the applicable enrollment record.
  • Review the Start Date.
  • Review the End Date.

  • Determine whether the enrollment dates accurately reflect when the student entered an exited the school.
Recommended Action

If the End Date is before the Start Date:

  • Review the student's enrollment and withdrawal documentation.
  • Determine the correct enrollment dates.
  • Open the applicable enrollment record.
  • Update the End Date to accurately reflect the student's enrollment.
  • Confirm that the End Date is the same as or later than the Start Date.
  • Select Save.

Important: Do not change an enrollment date only to clear the validation. The Start Date and End Date must accurately reflect the student's enrollment history.

Verify the Correction
  • Rerun the applicable PMR FATAL Validations.
  • Confirm that the student no longer appears in FATAL-28 after the enrollment dates have been corrected.
  • Continue reviewing any remaining FATAL validation results.
